Re: CTD to Desktop on exit from game.
Thanks, Vorians. I guess I will look for a download. I've always been a little nervous with OBSE, but my latest Morrowind game has been using its version (included in the graphics extender) so seemlessly, I've gotten over the worry. Having a script extender in that game has been a real joy. Hopefully, it will be the same in Oblivion.

Nowena, OBSE will not harm your game in any way. It is the mods that may cause trouble and ALWAYS use the OBSE launcher. Just set up a short cut to it. I have never used any of those special launchers and have had no problem with OBSE. Used it for a long time too.

Re: CTD to Desktop on exit from game.
It's OK, Nakia. I got used to the Morrowind version - it was included in MGE which I didn't have much trouble with at all. So, when I decided to start up Oblivion again, that was the first mod I added - with a special launcher on desktop. I really wanted to use some of the Oblivion mods that require it but didn't have the courage before. Don't know why I didn't feel brave enough long before this.
If Vorians is still around, I'd love to ask him if he's used OGE and if it does enough for Oblivion to make it worth it. I saw three different threads with that title on Beth, and a different name running each one.
Oh, and I did load Fast Exit (the main reason I installed OBSE). It works great. Thanks, Nakia and Vorians.

Vorians comes and goes. So possibly he will show up and see your post. If you can find the Redecorator mod install it. It is fun to move your furniture around, hang things on the wall. Just remember to save before activating it. I have 190 mods listed on my NEXUS list so if you are interested in some enhancements Imight have them. Runeskulls? Better than the Sigil stones. Some of the mods I don't like but I can't figure out how to clean out my dl list.

Re: CTD to Desktop on exit from game.
Oo. I saw the Runeskulls. They work well? No problems?
Cleaning out the dl list is easy - just select and delete. (Click on deactivate on OMODs) Committing to deleting is much harder, especially if you've gotten all of your list to work well. As soon as I pick what I'm going to leave out, I say, "Oh, but I kind of enjoy that one."

Thanks, Nowena. I do have a few I will never want. Just not my taste. It seems I lose the ones I really want and keep the ones I can't stand. Alas,, life is so hard.

Re: CTD to Desktop on exit from game.
I've never downloaded OGE. Looking at the screenshots it clearly can do some impressive graphical improvements. But for me, additional game content is more important that visual enhancement. If only the game engine were rewritten to make full use of modern-day technology so that the game could handle OGE and all the mods smoothly, I'd definitely be using OGE, no question.

Re: CTD to Desktop on exit from game.
I had wondered what the use of the OGE was... i can obviously see the advantage of the morrowind graphics extender... but Oblivions did not seem to be as important... hehe interesting to see the uses there...

Re: CTD to Desktop on exit from game.
Lol I remember using oge, and then chose which files I specifically wanted, then my game ended up looking like Borderlands, haha that was funny I thought it was pretty interesting what it can do, too bad my computer im using right now is only able to handle the sun rays without going on an average of 20 fps. Which is why I'll be upgrading soon this year, for obvious reasons. I know you've already been told this but from my understanding, script extenders shouldn't be able to harm your game at all although I have steam and had obse not run at all when I reinstalled a couple times, but hey we don't have to use a different launcher and from what I understand from the name, it's just like a resource mod, like dcrp, it's resource being more scripts hehe.

Re: CTD to Desktop on exit from game.
No, I realize OBSE isn't supposed to harm your game in itself. Perhaps I should explain further that what made me nervous was really the mods that required it. Some of them - well, in earlier days, most of them that interested me - were a bit unstable and I read threads and threads of serious problems that often required a complete reinstall to fix. A normal malfunctioning mod can just be uninstalled (well, the ones I used anyway). One that worked because of OBSE needed a lot more understanding of the game mechanics than I have and often corrupted the save games, probably because it wasn't reading OBSE properly.
Anyway, it seems things have been getting much more stable in Oblivion whilst I was gone to Morrowind. And I got used to using the Morrowind equivalents to great success, which is most likely the reason I feel more comfortable using them in Oblivion.
I have to say that I was amazed, on firing up Oblivion again, that Morrowind's enhanced graphics with MGE and the replacers is actually more breathtaking than Oblivion without any.
