In a game if you have a choice of playing good, neutral or evil alignment which do you prefer?

It depends on the game for me. In Baldurs Gate/ToB the best game I had was when I played what we called smart evil. I could pick and choose what I wanted to do. In ArcanUm no matter how hard I tried I ended up.being a goody goody. It must have been a pretty good game because the people seemed real to me and I just had to help them. In most other games such as DA:O I prefer to be neutral leaning towards good; chaotic good I guess.

I shoot for neutral. However, I tend to end up a bit heavy on the evil side for some reason.

i can not preform evil... if i do, it weighs on me til i am forced to reload and pick another option... so 99% good (no one can be 100 right?)

I prefer chaotic neutral. That way if I really get into the game (immersion) I can choose whether I want to do evil or good - depending on how I like or dislike certain characters. Sometimes it's amazing why I end up wanting to dump on some of them. (I really wanted to kill one of my companions in the early - pre-warden part of Dragon Age. Too bad I couldn't, it would have felt good. Ah, well. Duncan did if for me.)

I prefer going for the good character. I liked in the AD&D games that I could have more than just one setting. Chaotic neutral, lawful good, evil... It was all part of the role-play. But I like doing good things for people. As long as it isn't "pick up the dirty laundry from over there would you?"

The D&D games where fun. Baldur's Gate/ToB gave a lot of choices. Even the Icewind Dale games had their moments. I know someone who played Morrowind as psychotic evil. Killed everything in sight.

When I first started Oblivion, I read over the wiki to get some good pointers for getting through the day without having to be reborn too much.

While I was there, I read an article about someone getting bored and deciding to make the IC a literally "dead" city. It was hilarious. I laughed so hard I cried and had to hold onto my mouse very tightly to keep from trying it out myself.

No matter what i play i always play good first. i just feel so bad playing evil... but after i play it once i go evil all the way XD XD i was nice to them once i will be evil in the next life LOL> there will also be times i am good but only evil when i need to be. in fallout and oblivion i am good ( player)but i steal anyhting that is not stapled down. i even save before i do it in thouses where people are at to make sure i do it without them noticing. because i am a good player the good outweighs the evil from stealing so over all i end up a good player XD being nurtal is very hard to do in games. pardon any misspellings i am sick.

you talking about me LOLOL jk.but i did that. it is hard to sell things when every player in every town is dead.(that can die). i did that in oblivion and fallout. i can not find my copy of morriowind... and i never got to play it so i cant do it in that game.. (sad face)

No matter how I start out, I usually end up being mostly neutral. In other words, if I start out good, I discover something I really, really want that has to be stolen or looted from a body. I'll resist only so long. And, if I start out bad, I start feeling sorry for the NPCs and refrain from the nastiest stuff.

I am sorry you haven't been able to play Morrowind, jez. It is my first love as it is the first, first person POV cRPG I ever tried. And now, with years of mods available, it is fantastic. The new graphics are gorgeous, the new lands intriguing . . . well, I could go on and on. Keep a watch out. Maybe you'll see the disk in a bargain bin somewhere. (I think I saw it on Amazon not too long ago.)
