 Re: dwarfs
If you want to remain 100% within lore while still using dwarves, your safest move would be to ensure that these Dwemer are NOT in Tamriel - another dimension, another realm (such as Oblivion, the Shivering Isles or any other Daedric realm) should be acceptable. But don't limit yourself like that unless YOU want to - ensuring 100% lore compatibility is in truth impossible (anything not created by Bethesda is against lore, since they didn't come up with it - the recreation of Sutch is against lore, the rebuilding of Kvatch is against lore, the expansion of the Elder Council is against lore, the existence of Fort Akatosh is against lore, the appearance of the cities in Better Cities is against lore, bare breasts are against lore...) so if you're happy to use mods yourself which clearly break lore at some level, then you should also be content to create mods which break lore at some level. Those who don't like such mods simply won't use them, and that's fine.

 Re: dwarfs
AND if in TES5 (set 200 years after TES4) it is mentioned in a book that Kvatch was rebuilt after the Daedric invasion, suddenly all mods which allow for Kvatch to be restored will become valid lore-wise, and those who refused to use such mods because it broke lore will accept such mods. So using Kvatch mods as an example, any mod which breaks lore today could be vindicated by a future Bethesda release. Equally, mods which 100% fit in with current lore could break future lore if Bethesda change their minds about something they've said in an existing release.

 Re: dwarfs
Well said, Vorians. I completely agree...it's why I had to play a little Devil's Advocate.
People that are afraid to break from Beth's lore 100% are severely limiting themselves...I prefer a more open approach. I know there are people out there who do opt for more strict lore guidelines, but it's too hard to please everybody; I wouldn't worry about them over much when your modding.
Too bad Lalwende is having puter problems, she would probably have an idea about what other race you should use....I can't think of any atm.
