 ITT: Discuss things in oblivion.......
........... things that you've always wonderd 'why did that get left out' or 'wtf thats retarded'.
I'll start off. ANYTHING to do with the rivers/bridges/forts. To list issues....
- IC/weye bridge, has those HUGE fort sized towers that are empty, and no fort protection for IC either. I've always wonderd why noone took those towers and modded them into three forts
- Bridges/rocks/boats. no WONDER why that boat at the waterfront in the IC is such a big deal, everyones wondering how it even GOT there, since:
1-vanilla leyawin area doesnt connect the river to the ocean, or if it does its ankle deep, cant remember what vanilla does that well. 2- bridges that basicly mean you cant even WATERWALK from IC to leyawin w/o having to jumpover/swimunder 3- Multiple places were there are so many rocks in the channel that a lvl1 characther could jump from stone to stone and cross teh channel w/o getting wet. 4- Where the hell does that river/lake ringing the IC come from. There aint many/any creeks/rivers feeding into it from up north, for example.
So yeah, bethesda looks like retards for geography and common sense. But then they also claim the games a RPG.

Re: ITT: Discuss things in oblivion.......
DC is working on a Fort Weye/Farms of Weye mod right now, you can see it under our mod list in DC Mod Plans and Announcements. Also, if you go the TES Nexus site, and type in 'Weye' in the search box, 3 pages of mods come up. Not all of them are what you are looking for, but I saw at least two that adds guards and life to the towers. There are tons of water mods out there, I for one always play Argonian, so I don't mind if I can't waterwalk straight from one place to another, I usually swim anyway. What always bugged me was how empty the underwater was, that's why I usually use AliveWaters with my characters. There is always going to be something that you don't like about the game, but that is why mods are so much fun. You can't please everyone all of the time, but you can customize your game the way you want to. Or learn to mod and make the game perfect for you, if you can't find the mod out there that does what you want it to. You have to give Beth props for making a game that so many people are addicted to. If they obviously rushed the game at the end, and left out some NPC's that were listed, took out towns that were supposed to be there, they are only a human company, with human limits and mistakes. That's why I couldn't play Oblivion without mods, but at the same time, I don't want to nit-pick at every little feature that isn't exactly the way I think it should be. I don't mind discussing Oblivion, but I don't want to just list complaints/issues that aren't game breaking, and are only minor irritations. Well, that's my two cents anway. Misnomer

Yeah they produced a nice shell to mod thats for sure.
I Just dont like how they hyped the graphics/celeb voices so much, yet left it empty on content.

Re: ITT: Discuss things in oblivion.......
i agree, in a bit maybe... but oblivion feels unqiue becuase of the empty voids that where left.... morrowind... wen morrowind was created, the abse game... it was hand coded... for tribunal and blood-moon, beth used the cs.... so in oblivion they modified, and used the cs agin, but this time left alot more room for the modders, and such to make the game into their own, mrorrowind had very little to mod that needed modding truely... so that is my goal to add back the features that should have been, bit by bit...

Re: ITT: Discuss things in oblivion.......
Morrowind mainly just needed the addition of additonal quests with multiple good/bad/neutral options, and to have the quests you can get affected by what you've allready done.
Other than that it was a real good game, tho some of the towns were a little too small to belive, that said it WAS just an island territory so the really small villages make sense.

Re: ITT: Discuss things in oblivion.......
Theres awsome things in vanilla oblivion ? :p
BTW, anyone else wonder about the magic teleportation from teh gates at the waterfront to the temple district ?
Dont know what I mean, ~tcl and go thru the gate, see whats on the other side.
The fact is that despite the 'years' spent on the game, it's full of glaring errors that (considering the label it as a RPG) are just plain insulting to the players (minus the xBox kiddies, anyone who plays anything billed as an RPG on a console deserves it)

Re: ITT: Discuss things in oblivion.......
Yes, there are, Tokra. For example the whole nature. Of course, there are mods that make it even better but the first view outside sewers is stunning.

Yes, hooray but still, I like wondering in the wilderness even without UL mods (I don't use them anyway)
