So i startet with blender and found out that it was not so easy as i thought. so could someone help me find a program thats easyer? (if there is one) And maybe help me getting started? just the basics i mean..

I moved this to Oblivion Mod-Maker Help, Chuck. I don't mod, so I can't help you with your question, but there are a lot of useful guides here that might be worth looking into, if you haven't already. :)

Does Gimp do modeling? I haven't used it, but I've heard people talking about it somewhere.

Post Re: Modeling Tools
Oh. Well, I had another modeling program, Bryce, but it was both harder to learn and expensive to buy. I don't think that would be a better alternative to Blender.

Actually, Chuck, for the money (free) I don't think you're going to find a better program than Blender. It seems to include a lot of what someone might need, perhaps a little too lot, but everything is there for whatever you might wish to do. The only thing is the large learning curve. Unfortunately, I think that's going to be the case for any good modeling program. The nature of the beast, at least for the time being.

On the good side, I've counted over 2 dozen tutorials available for it, also free, running from the "knows a bit already" venue to "what is a modeling program" one, including a whole series of free, downloadable videos. I think if you are serious about wanting to learn this talent, you may just wish to set your mind to it and learn it. Can't be too much harder - from what I've seen - than learning to mod. And, could very well be handy in the future.

Hey! I just found this on Nexus:

http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=16305

It says its tutorials for a "simpler 3D modeling program". I haven't tried it yet, but I downloaded it to test it out. You might like to look at it.

(The program, Wings3D, is free and link for downloading is in the first tutorial.)

I know a lot of modelers use 3ds Max. It is VERY expensive though. A professional license costs $3500 or a student license if you are a student can be obtained for $350 http://www.journeyed.com/item/Autodesk/ ... /100965793

Hmm. Sorry, I didn't check back on this thread, Scythe. Do you still need any of those tutorials? I can hunt up the links if you do.
