Post Possible Mods for Skyrim
I know it is too early to really know what will be needed for Skyrim but modders are gearing up to mod so I am speculating on possible mods.

1) Horses: Since there is no horseback combat my guess is that someone will make a mod for this. We don't as far as I know have horse commands. If not someone will add these I hope. Stolen horses will return to their owners or original locations so that shouldn't be a problem but I hate buying a horse then losing it.

2) Houses or castles: I am sure people will add these. In fact I hope to do so myself.

3) Companions: I bet these will be added and I certainly hope Emma will add hers and maybe the packdonkeys. I love those donkeys.

3) Quest Mods. These will eventually be added and I hope some of them are fun mods, something funny and not just the usual explore a cave or ruin. A mod that challenges me maybe has a riddle or something to solve and not just slash and bash.

4) Crafts: Since crafts are included in the vanilla game adding crafts should not be a problem for those who can do scripting. I hope we can light fires and do cooking.

5) Magic: I am sure this will be expanded by modders.

Any one want to speculate or tell us what they might want to add?

Most of those are at least touched on by the vanilla game, so where and how much will probably be dependant on what has the most need. Well, other than house mods. Always need more house mods. hehe. And, fancier armour and weapons. (Though some of us will probably be looking at houses rather than the weapons. I do love different, imaginative houses.)

Crafts and companions are, apparently, included in the base game and all the teasers don't really tell us yet how well or how much. I suspect new companions with great backstories and quests will always be in demand, but crafts will depend on what is already provided. Horses, too, are still a bit of a mystery. I can tell in the trailers that they will be there, and that they can be ridden, but the rest is speculation.

One of the first mods I expect to see started is a rebuild of Cyrodiil or Morrowind in Skyrim's engine. :D

Depending on how friendly the CS is, I might like to build my own house mod, too.

I agree with you. Horses are still a mystery. The only thing I know about them is that at least they have reins, can be ridden but there is no horseback combat. They will fight for you if your are attacked. That is it. Even how many, where they can be purchased, if there are any commands is an unknown as far as I know.

Crafts too are still a bit of a mystery. We will have them and some at least are know.

The Creative set is also still a mystery. We can only hope.

Hmm. I'm thinking a house built into a cliff or underground would be the most comfortable in Skyrim. I've learned that underground is the easiest to keep at a comfortable temperature, whether outside is very cold or very hot. Underground stays almost the same temperature all the time, at least in real life.

:) Which why the buildings in Bruma went down instead of up as in other cities. It will be interesting to see what they did in Skyrim.

There is a really cool mod house in a cave/den in the Elsweyr mod for Oblivion. I think if I decide to and am able to work with Skyrim, I'd like to a house mod similar to that. Have you tried out that mod yet?

Not yet but I would like to. I have heard that if you can play Fallout New Vegas you should be able to play Skyrim. I hope that is true as I know others who are not ready or able to upgrade their computers.

I hope once my RL obligations are complete to have a little time to work on my Oblivion game. I need to do some work on configuring my computer too. The specs of my computer are good but it does need updating for drivers and probably reconfiguring. Something is haywire with the directX as from time to time I get an error message. My Internet connection needs correcting also. What I need is some good solid free time. :D

Oh, good. I had no problem with New Vegas, at least until I loaded some mods. Still could run it all right, but needed to save often. I think those were mod problems rather than computer problems mostly anyway.

I hope you do get some time to work on your computer. You probably won't have much when Skyrim is released. :D

 If Skyrim is any where near as good as we hope it to be you are right I won't have much time for anything. I also gather I will continue to have executrix responsibilities for quite a while before the Estate is actually closed. That will mean at least an occasional day trip to New York.

It took me a little over a year to finish with mine. But then I had to sell some property and then certain companies required 8 to 10 death certificates before they agreed to let me sell the stock. :D
