Ok, throwing out some ideas for further TEC changes, this time for gameplay. A lot of these have proably been done in one way or another, but it'd be cool to combine them and do for TEC.

Armor/weapon/item weight/stat re-balance to make sense, Ive discussed this before so just listing it.

Adding roleplay to vanilla quests, add lots more dialouge options and ways to complete quests, so they can be roleplayed properly. Prehaps limit guild membership to an extent, so you cant be leader of everything.

Magic overhaul. Make it more fun and powerful. Vanilla type lower power and high magica speels can be 'common' spells that anyone can learn if they have the talent, but add new stuff for magic based charachters, be it new scripted effects/spells. Midas magic is freaking awsome, but a mages guild similar option needs to exist (or a similar one for warlocks and other non mages guild magic characthers). Magic based characthers should be able to get strong spells. They should be able to 'study' and learn and having a library should be important, prehaps have some kind of learning system set up were having certain books to study gives you a % chance (based on certain skill levels) to gain a new spell (or replace an older one with a stronger, lower magicka cost one). Some stronger spells should require a combination of books too, prehaps.

Gold. We need to make it so that you dont just crunch up and get lots of gold and suddenly not really care by then because youve allready got good gear. Gold needs to be made much harder to come by, but when you do come by it, its in a roleplay fashion. Add various job type things you can do (and guilds to do them in, if you choose to play that role) and places you can get ownership of (but which will have operating costs as well, and you can loose if you dont roleplay management of it properly, a farm or a mine for example, or even a shop).

Midevil setting. Towns should lock their gates at night. Guards should patrol the area outside the walls. Banditry should be re-vamped to make sense (I mean FFS bandits in an 'abandoned' fort that sits in the middle of a main road....). Add lower class (and lower care of the law) taverns outside the gates along with the stables, add more farms and settlements to the world. Generaly make it 'feel' propper.

Ownable dwellings, not touching vanilla houses, but there should be other types of dwellings. Some caves should be able to be setup as a base for a mage (or other magic characther) or an outlaw characther (ditto some abandoned forts). There should be non-guild people for many differnt characther types you can discover to find a RP suitable dwelling (farms for lower class characthers, for example).



Anyway, post general outlines of your ideas. Lets keep indepth discussion out of this thread, make new threads for that, and use this as a general tossing around ideas thread.

These are good ideas, Tokra, but unfortunately DC can't update the TEC.

They'd make a great basis for a new mod though...I think it would take a major overhaul to do that to all of the towns and dwellings in the game.

Why? Those ideas don't need to be dependent on TEC, they would work well alone or attached to another mod.
