Actually, it is pretty easy to give gifts. Certain items you pick up (with loot or from vendors) that is labelled "gift". Right click on them (while the person you want to give it to is showing) and choose the option to give it. You do want to check and make sure who would appreciate it the most, though. Some items are quest gifts that will start personal companion quests, and others get more approval points from some people that others.

For instance: Morrigan loves expensive jewelry, Wynne likes books, and Leliana likes anything that has to do with the chantry. Alistair likes statues and runes.

Glad to see you are enjoying the game. I haven't gotten to spend a lot of time on it lately - too much company - but I love the time I've had. So far, I've tried all the origins except the city elf and they all have their attractions. I've saved the Circle of Magi a couple of times, too (with different characters) and now I'm working on Redcliffe. I think having Shale (the golem) will be of big help there and in the Deep Roads.

as for the game in general, beat it... and thought it was amazingly through and wonderful through and through.

every loose end, even if it was the end of the game, was tied up.

Just a note: Wynne also likes Wine :)

I am loving this game. It's storyline and the fun of playing it, far outshines my original disappointment at it not being a completely open world. I also wish you could move everywhere easily (like jumping on rocks and going up hills) but this is really very minor. I'm so wrapped up in the story, I had to go in the other room to tell my husband about Bhelen betraying me and how pissed I was that I got exiled unfairly...hehe. I haven't been that involved in a story since...well, OB.

Me, too. I've been plotting my revenge even while clearing out Ostragar. Just wait til I get back to the Deep Roads! Certain people will know I've been there. hehe.

This is really a fun game. I have done the Origin story of everyone but Dwarf Noble and City Elf. Have only gone completely through the game to the bitter end with the common dwarf, rogue, female. It was great. I did play quite a bit with eh Forest Elf and with an Elf mage, both male. Of the two I think I like mage best but both are good.

I too was a bit disappointed because of all the hype especially that it was the spiritual successor to Baldurs Gate..

I don't know anything about Baldurs Gate - never played it. But, this game fullfilled its promise to me anyway - just through the various origins. I think you should try the Dwarf Noble, Nakia. I got more attached to her than I was to any of the others, except for the mage. I played as a dwarf noble rogue and I really felt like I was her. Made for some interesting choices later on . . . hehe.
