 Major CS issue - resolved
well, if this issue is not resolved, i will be forced to abanodn my mods, and dsilove dc team...
since gisakrd does not appear to have a techincal suport forum anymore... or i missed it, this is getting dumped here (seems the most ppl would view this section anyway )
now, for the issue (copy and pasted from my beth forums post)
i have a major issue with my cs... the other day (yesterday) it decided that it was not going to allow me to type dialogue... i can make quests, wen i go to the topic screen, it will allow me to create, and add topics... but if i go to add "entrys" which usualy luanches another window that will allow me to add text to... it wont luanch, and instead will crash
i had this issue wen i frst installed the cs, and oblivion on my new computer (last feburary) and somehow, it (the computer/cs) fixed itself.. and would allow me to add dialogue, but i couldnt set npc facial values (minor price to pay to be able to use thi dialogue features) but for some reaosn yesterday, it decided it didnt want to work anymore
has anyone else had this isssue before? or has any clue how to fix it?
thanks in advanced:
vista home premium 64 bit OS

Re: Major CS issue - resolved
I believe this problem has now been resolved? I certainly hope so. It sounds very bad, and unfortunately I have no idea how to help.

Re: Major CS issue - resolved
Sounds like Windows Vista permissions/access issues.

Re: Major CS issue - resolved
Aha, Scythe, remember my problem with CS? Couldn't use the Rendering window? I set the CS to compatibility XP:SP3 the recommended compatibility. Have you done that?
I also have a program I got from Crash that allows me to claim ownership of just about anything I need to. He recommended using it on the document files that contain the Save Games and on CS. Do periodically. I can track down the link if you wish it.

Re: Major CS issue - resolved
interesting... I've been running ob, and the cs in compatibility mode for xp sp 2, for years... because you get odd errors if you don't... but that ownership thing might not be a bad idea... i am the system admin (there is only my account...) so doubt that permission should be an issue though...

Re: Major CS issue - resolved
On vista, you have sometimes to jump through some hoops even on the admin account for some database activity. See the instruction for making OBMM work on Vista.

Re: Major CS issue - resolved
I have heard that TES4edit can do several things better than the CS can.
