Post questions about Kvatch Aftermath 7.3
ok I was useing RS kA Omod ready until I found and downloaded 7.3 today and I really liked it but there were about 10 crates and barrels flooting in the air(mostly above guards) and Iwas wondering if there was a way I could remove these? besides that I really love this and alot o the other mods by giskad.



also for my second question I have just upgraded the area around the dog and duck but have no idea what I do next 1 ingame month has passed

I suspect that you should have done a clean install. Deactivate the old KA and go in and save a game without the old mod installed. Then install and activate the new mod.

Did you talk to the woman, forgot her name, in the building just outside the Gate? Or to Savilus (sp?). I am a bit tired and a poor speller at best. You have to talk to people and then do what they say. Should not be more than a week betweenquests unless you want to prolong it by doing nothing.

Hmm: Adminstrators, shouldn't this be in a different forum?

That issue was caused by cleaning kvatch using tes4gecko many years ago.

It is why I refuse to use tools to clean my mods. I never expected to see it reported these days though. You will be happy to know other corruption caused by that mod clean that was later found was fixed via a script so they should not cause you any problems.

But if you know any kvatch 5.x users, tell them to upgrade because the whole of the 5.x releases where tainted by one bug after another caused by that mod clean. It was a terrible time for me fixing it up but by 6.1, i had sorted most of the issues out. The last one I know about was fixed in 6.4. That was a serious one.

In case anybody at DC want to know the details behind this. I'll explain it.

In the early versions of kvatch there was a good and evil lighting feature that was turned on or off according to the settings for the secret room. They make the kvatch street lights feel good or evil basically.

Then I cleaned the mod whilst working on some legion towers for kvatch. Which completely destroyed legion towers and corrupted the mod. So I spent a month repairing the damage and forgot about it. Believing I had gotten it all.

About 6 months to a year later I decided to replace that good or evil lighting feature with the 8pm turn on feature that is in the mod to day. The moment I did, the corruption kicked off and caused that problem.

The lights formIDs got swapped for crate formIDs in the oblivion.esm but the game remembered the persistant flag so even though the mod no longer had those items in it. The players saved games still sorted a crate where the light used to be.

That is why you will see 2 crates per light, 1 crate for the good lights, 1 crate for the bad lights.

Reseting the mod is the only way to fix this issue and the only way you can still get this bug today is by upgrading from a very old version of kvatch to a version made AFTER that mod clean.

A mod reset was recommended at the time to fix it, that is still the correct advice to give for all current suffers.

Re mod resetting or what I think of as a clean mod install I have learned to do this with other mods even when not told to do so. I have in different games ended up with double people in Wolfgates, the FG and the TEC IC because of name changes.

Re KA let us remember to remind people NOT to use the wait feature. Instead tell them to go "hurt something".

Just making sure DC have the info they need to support these mods Nakia.

How are you these days ?
The are your eyes better ?

I still remember how a certain lassie, along with 2 others stood up for me in that kvatch thread in march 2008 over this very issue whilst the rest of the community decided to flame me for standing my ground on this point.

Hey giskard I would like to thank you for making so many wonderful mods the Kavatch Aftermath,Origins of the mages guild and Elder Council mod are 3 of the best mods I have ever played te only ont the comes close to them is The Lost Spires(but I am not to sure how lore friendly it is)

I also Like Fort Akatosh alot too(but is a lil sort but very nice)

Thanks, Giskard, the eyes are better. Regular reading is still a chore and I really appreciate Otellino trying to set a skin I can read. He succeeded very well.

I like that new Title, Nakia Falmer Bane. :)

I'll never forget when I decided to look for a quest mod to add finding Kvatch Aftermath and how impressed with it I was. Ho! I said to myself, I must look into this modder and find out some more. Lo, here I am telling other people what to do. :spin:
