 Revan's Future Mods (Concepts)
Hi everyone! As my post count will show I'm new, but I talked to biulding about joining the team and the short story is I'm on board. Until I get my laptop fully fixed (one problem after another!) I figured I'd contribute some ideas for mods that I've had bouncing around in my head since February (Yes... my laptop has been dead since then). What I'm really looking for is input from other team members and the community about my ideas and if they would like to see the mods brought to fruition. Idea 1:The first idea is a bit influence by my love of the Nintendo DS series "Lost in the Blue" and a bit of the show LOST (a personal fav of mine). While in Anvil (or maybe a new sea port) you meet someone who is looking to assemble a crew to explore a recently discovered island. Once you join you set sail. As you near the island you are ambushed in the middle of the night by a group of dark clad warriors. You go above deck to fight them but are knocked out and thrown overboard. You wake up on shore, alone, to see the ship fully destroyed with some debris washed ashore. This is where the mod really begins. From here you can explore the new island, gather supplies, and build a small camp until you can find a way back to the mainland. You can have a choice of a few different areas where to build your little camp, different areas will have slight changes in the story. On the island you'll discover a large complex of ruins. The deeper you explore the more of the story will unfold. I'm currently not sure if I want to have you be able to find crew members for a few reasons. One, scripting extra people would be a bit of a pain but this is a very minor complaint. I'm more thinking that the feeling of being alone with hostiles around you in a mysterious and dark world would add a sense of tension and thrill to the mod. On the other hand finding crew members could help expand and continue the story while also putting you in a position to begin building a new community on the island. Ideally, how I want this mod to end is with you either allying with the native warriors, forming a peaceful resolve, or crushing them completely. Besides this I'd like to see a new colony to be built on the island with multiple villages each full of plots. <_< I know this sounds ambitious which is probably one of the reasons I never started this. I figure this would require more than one person working on it and only after I become a more skillful modder. Resurrection of Pale Pass:Once the Empire has dealt with the scare of Dagon and the Mystic Dawn the Countess of Bruma once again calls upon your aid. She is intrigued by the discovery of Pale Pass and would like you to escort a caravan back up there to set up an excavation camp. She wants any other treasures that may be in the area. I don't have many plans for actual quests but I figure since the Akaviri invaded it, making it a foot hold in their invasion of Cyrodiil there could be buried and "unawakened" dangers. It's still in the most simple of conceptual stages but similarly to my first mod idea I'd like to see a a new village, the resurrection of Pale Pass. Framed:I got this idea yesterday while listening to "Over the Hills and Far Away" by Nightwish. You awake one morning with a squad of elite legionnaires surrounding you. You are informed by the captain that you are under arrest for the massacre of an emissary from Morrowind and his guards. You are stripped of your supplies and shipped out to a prison island where only the deadliest and feared criminals are sent. The idea of this quest mod is to escape the island, use stealth for good, and clear your name or seek revenge. To escape the prison island a mixture os stealth, logic, and skill will be required. I think having multiple possibilities to escape the complex would be interesting. Some ideas that I think could work are befriending other criminals and overthrowing the complex, using stealth and persuasion to trick the guards, or befriending a guard who will help you escape. Once back in mainland Cyrodiil you will have to find evidence and clear your name. Since you are on the run for the massacre and now escape of the prison you will be on every guards radar. You'll have to utilize disguises, aliases, stealth, and maybe a just a bit of luck to avoid them. I want to explore the Crimson Scars within this mod since I haven't seen anyone else really touch on them. I really love stealth based anything. Oblivion has some fun stealth based moments but almost all of them have to do with be breaking the law (not that I mind, I always play as a thief/assassin). I thought that maybe this would give the honest and just characters a chance to use stealth in a way that helps bring about justice. Well those three are the only ones I currently have that are worth nothing at this time. Please give feedback so I have an idea of the order I should start them... if at all.

lots of good ideas there mate.... all i can see being done... (ie not somthing to undearibly hard to script out) the third one might be the hardest to script out, but could be done. with the third one, have people on the outside who know you, and will be willing to help you, and harbor you from the law... and give you clues to who framed you. like wise having members of an opposing faction, these scars you refered to? perhaps... trying to hunt you, and your allies down... all the time, you are being hunted by the legion.... btw, love over the hills and far away  the second one, could go into finding more akivirian goods, secrets down in those ruins... ive only been there once... on the ps3 version of ob... and dont remember the thing very well... the first idea is intersting too... and could be incorperated with sutch, one of my plans for it, is to colonize an off shore island.... but i think you idea is to elaborate for sutch goood thoughts mate biulding

Thank you! I'm glad they're all doable even. I'm not fully aware of the limitations of the CS but I have a feeling I will find out in the near future once I delve back into modding. The Crimson Scars are a break away faction by a member of the Dark Brother hood. Quote: In 3E 421 a Dark Brotherhood member named Greywyn began his own crusade against the Dark Brotherhood. Believing to have been ordered by Sithis to remove all non-vampires from the brotherhood, Greywyn founds an organization known as the Crimson Scars. His attempt failed however when a member of the Crimson Scar betrayed him to the Black Hand. The Black Hand swiftly retaliates and murders the Crimson Scars. The final fate of Greywyn, or his supposed sanctuary, is unknown. Greywyn is the one to deed Deepscorn Hollow to you, if you have that DLC. Back to the story at hand. I like that idea biulding, it wouldn't make too much sense being able to gather information without some kind of help. I suppose help could range from counts (maybe the Count of Skingrad if you're a vampire) to the sketchiest of Cyrodiil's population in back room negotiations. I do like the idea of exploring Cyrodiil's seedy underbelly where corruption, back stabbing, and murder run rampant. I was was thinking of having the Crimson Scars tail you, but I haven't thought of a reason for them to frame you... and even if I did I'd probably keep it secret as to not spoil a surprise! The second one is probably the only one I'm note sure where to direct it. There really isn't much there so the most I could think of is expanding the mod outside of Pale Pass to other secret strongholds that the Akaviri are still living in... but I think that may be breaking lore. If nothing else some new ancient items and a new village could be fun. Could it be possible to incorporate the two mods in the future? Maybe have this mod come first, then once it is all cleared out your idea for colonizing the island could begin? Or they could simply be two separate mods and mark of a new series... "Colonization of Tamriel!"  PS: My favorite musical genre is symphonic and melodic metal so it really puts me into the Oblivion mood! Lol. Listen to "Hunab ku" by Epica for a song that screams Oblivion.

All three ideas sound pretty good, Revan, but I'm more interested in the first and third ones, I guess. Finding more weapons and artifacts don't interest me as much as trying to resolve problems like those represent.
I think any of them will take some work, though, so be prepared to spend a bit of time on which ever you decide to do. You might find help with textures and meshes and stuff in the DC Resource Pack. When you get a chance, check it out.

hehe also, if u need it... i can retexture vinilla objects. i can not create new textures, if i could, it would be just changing colors of existing meshes, my skills with gimp are very limited, but my skills with nifscope are getting better  hehe btw, sneak in a minor update to sutch here  just retextured a biulding for all the druids, i think it came out quite well  as for your ideas... i would be willing to help wherever i can mate... ps, Dc projects: Respawn chronicles County kvatch - discontinued(this is wolfs gate, and kvatch guard towers....) County Sutch Reborn- Sutch reborn and all of its add ons, this is the big project A Saints Tale: huge quest line, comes in four parts, part 1 is already done, part 2 halfway finshed, its on pause right now while i work on sutch.... i had planed for 2 more projects Project Empire: add more forts to cyrodill, this one was almsot complete, but lost just recently, with onra and firesparks depatrue... and town chater: this is more vilages, and colonies, on cyrodill, and sorounding islands.... biulding

I'm getting what you mean Nowena. Pale's Pass by far seems the weakest of my ideas with very little to actually do with it. If I were to work on it, it would be when I'm stuck on other projects. Lol. In the past I've had DC Resource Pack in my directory, but I never actually looked into it as a modding resource to use in my own mods. I have some ideas for the village building in my Island colonization mod. I'll look into it tomorrow hopefully. I'll definitely need help but I'll see what I can do in the beginning. In fact I probably won't even begin them until I get a better feel for the CS. I'm hoping to get better at using adobe create suite 4 master edition and 3D Studio Max 2010 so maybe in the future I'll be able to show skill there. But in the mean time with my set of skills I'm probably best doing mundane and tedious stuff such as laying out towns and villages. Nice plug for Sutch biulding.  Hmmm... I think I'll work on a small island village as my first project. I have a fondness for islands.

hehe very well then my friend.. hehe and to be hoenst, village layout is my favorite part  i could do that for years without getting board hehe gonna go relase an update for sutch  well report anyway  biulding ps good luck

If I had to choose one, I would choose item #3. It sounds the most intreging...  If thought through... maybe item #1 can be a lead in to Item #3. Or, a side quest (teaser) kicks off Item #3... - Euther

Actually, I am a Lost fan from the beginning of that show, so the island idea intrigues me the most. However, solving mysteries and clearing one's own name rather interests me as well. So, I like your idea of combining the two very much. I look forward to Revan's development of his ideas (and him getting his laptop back into service).
