Well, the latest word is that we are not alone. (Comforting, somehow.)

The most recent phone call to the bank told us that a lot of their customers are having the same problem - loan payments that are accepted and recorded, but somehow not taken as loan payments, therefore causing the bank to accuse us of not paying on our loan. As I said, mysterious. They have records of the payments and admit them, but still claim we are badly in arrears since they don't count toward the loan for some reason they can't fathom. And, until they figure out what they're doing with the money, I still get late fees and threats.

Very disturbing. And, you wouldn't believe the asinine advice they (the bank) are giving us.

It sounds horrible. Really, the banks today are so bold! How can they accuse their customers when they HAVE the money...

But as it isn't only your problem but rather wider, I hope the solution will be satisfactory.

Knowing you are not alone means the bank might actually try to help you. What a ridiculous situation. Obviously they are in error. Reminds me of a battle I had with the cell phone company earlier in the year. They admitted they were wrong, but somehow wanted me to pay for it, and kept calling to tell me so. Three months of calling and re-apprising different customer service reps finally brought them around, but what a monument to bureaucracy and inefficiency. I hope your situation gets resolved sooner than 3 months, Nowena

That does sound rather like what I'm running into, Misnomer. I realize bankers believe everyone has a few thousand lying around the house in cookie jars, but how they come up with the idea that we should pay it AGAIN just so they can try something else, is beyond me.

My brother tells me I should treat it like a game. Personally, I'd rather play Oblivion.

I believe those things never happen in the Banks of Cyrodiil ;)

Hmm. I think you're right. But then, the Bank of Cyrodiil won't lend you money either, will it?

Yeah, that's an issue, you're right... I do hope the problem won't last very long though

Tell your brother if it was a game, you would just turn it off ;)

Thanks. :grouphug:

My brother says I take all this too seriously, but they have destroyed my credit rating and all the other banks and financial institutions refuse to deal with me any more until it is settled as they ignore my entire past history and prefer to use this to label me a credit risk now. And, there's bloody little I can do about it for the moment.
