 The Skyrim Blog
Since we don't have a topic for Skyrim I am posting this here. There is an excellent source of information for Skyrim up. Here is the link for anyone wanting to find their information in one place. http://theskyrimblog.com/Moved to appropriate Skyrim section, since there's a Skyrim part of the forum now ;D

 Re: The Skyrim Blog
Thank you, Nakia. I think that is a big question on a lot of our minds.
I've also heard that some of the gamer mags are posting screenies and the gist of interviews with Bethesda staff members. So far, the hints I've heard sound like they've scoured the modding sites and added to their new game many of the best and most popular features they found. That is very encouraging to me.

 Re: The Skyrim Blog
I have been following the game closely. Bethesda has quite a few screenshots up and a few videos. Just the other day a magazine had an interview with the head designer, I can look it up. The combat is imensly improved. The ecological system is controlled; predator/prey are matched and they use what they call controlled randomness. Monsters and animals have their own locations and will not be found just anywhere. Bandits have their own loot and necomancers have theirs. This game sounds absolutely stupendous. When asked how they decided what to do the designer replied "We asked the players." I am caustiously optomistic. Note: Sorry for poor spelling but I lost my spell check and have not been able to get it back. The one I found is a copy and paste and I admit I am too lazy to deal with it.

 Re: The Skyrim Blog
Looks to me like your spelling is excellent.
And, what they're saying about Skyrim sounds wonderful. Now, if they can just deliver what they say.
I'm afraid I'm not too good with videos right now, though. It's hot around here and I worry about my computer getting too much heat. Plus, either my speakers or my sound card is acting up, so I mostly read the articles and look at the pictures - at least until I can afford to visit my local computer guru again.

 Re: The Skyrim Blog
The weather here is jumping back and forth from hot (fpr jere) and beautifully normal. I try not to overheat my PC too. TESNEXus is doing a great job of keeping up todate on wht is happening so we have good coverage. I have made a few post in the TESNEXUS Skyrim and from the little I have seen the people are polite and reasonably friendly with each other even when the disagree. A few people have started what I think of as nit-picking complaining before the game is even in beta. Speculation is high which is a bit silly or people are worried that Bethesda is catering to the Console players and leaving the PC players to have a dampered down game. Too simple. personally I think some things in Oblivion could have been simplified. The spell system for instance. How many spells did you actually use? Combat has definietely bben improved. Dual weilding or spell casting. You can nowuse a torch as a weapon, cast a pell with one hand and weild a weapon with the other. Hand-to-hand is no long a skill and I don't think acrobatics is either. I think 4 skills have been dropped or combinedwithsomething else. Mysticism is no longer a separate skill but has been spread to other magic schools. Dragons are unscripted and will attack anyone or thing. Still haven't heard anythng about the construction set but there is one but called something else. Carabas and I are already working on a mod idea for Skyrim. Of course it has to be pretty general right now until the game is realeased and we can see what we have to work with. Took us a while tossing back ideas until we found something we cold both live with. Now if we can just get other people involved. This should be interesting. Carabas keeps saying he isn't a true modder but he keeps insisting he isn't a leader either. Heh, that is what he thinks but the rest of us know better. He is good. His English is so perfect it is a bit daunting at times. Five months to before Skyrim is released and the excitment is tangible. Glad my spelling isn't atrocious but I know my limits.

 Re: The Skyrim Blog
There are 70 voice actors in Skyrim as opposed to only 14 in Obilvion. On the TES NEXUS Skyrim forum there has been a lot of discussion of the damping down of Skyrim because of the version for the XBox. I am not concerneed about that. Bethesda does a good job with their games. I think the graphics will be great. If what I have seen are the console graphics they are good and will be even better on a good computer. My radeon card does a great job with my old games so I should be happy. I read that the way the quests have been set up, controlled randomizing, you will need to play about five different games to cover the quests. The ecology system is also controlled random, animals and monsters have their own area andprey. You will not find monster z just anywhere. Loot is also specific to bandits, necromancers etc. There will be random loot but each group has its own type of loot. Staffs for instance for necromancers or mages. From a E3 video there is a little problem. If your character is hurt blood spatters on the screen like a camera lens which breaks immersion. We are hoping we will be able to turn this off or a modder will quickly make us a fix. I haven't heard if there are wolves in Skyrim but if there are I do hope they do not bark. I simply cannot abide barking wolves.

 Re: The Skyrim Blog
I've also heard you will be able to aquire skills other than just fighting skills, too. Like farming, mining, smithing, etc. Sounds like it will be fun on many levels.

 Re: The Skyrim Blog
My concern is it legal or have there been questionable ports. I haven't checked to see if it is up on TES NEXUS. They are very picky about porting because it is so often an infringement of copyright laws. There also seem to be quite a few things to read and download. Not just a smiple download this moad. The video I saw looks good. I may download it. I'm not selling it or passing it to someone else. The Internet police won't be after me for that. Babble, sorry, I am tired.

 Re: The Skyrim Blog
Umm. ?? You were talking about the video you mentioned, right? Not the announcement of life skills Beth made about Skyrim that I was talking about . . .
I haven't watched any videos lately. Computer acts funny in the middle of them.

 Re: The Skyrim Blog
Sorry, Nowena, I have had two hours sleep in the past 48 hours and got confused. Ignore the above post it really belong not here. Last night sitting at computer and almost falling off the chair I realized I was afaid to go to sleep. Silly I know but I am having a rough time. Karin was/is invincible. She shouldn't be vulnerable to things like this. Gee, my big cousin is just a human being after all. That is scary.
