(WIP) The Search for Saiburra: a treasure hunt
This is a little mod I'm trying to do that will be a combination of a house mod and a quest.
Initially, it will be a cozy, attractive house that the PC can move into as soon as you find it. It will be free for the taking, no strings attached - well, one string. It is haunted. Not by a lich, but by a frustrated, angry spirit of the former owner. If you find the way to get him to talk to you, you will discover an interesting story and a quest for great treasure.
The treasure hunt is to find, with help from the ghost, a fabled city of gold, but it won't be easy to find. Of course there are monsters around, but also some sneaky competitors who also know about this city and will do anything to find it before you. What makes it even more difficult is that you will need to use some of these competitors in order to find it yourself, so killing everybody in sight won't get you anything but experience points and some armor. Just be careful, because they are using you, too.
OK. That's what the mod is about and, it may be just a bit ambitious for me. So, if anyone likes the idea and wants to help out, I'd be thrilled. Biulding has promised to help out when he gets finished with his current mods, but it's going to be rather involved, including a new city, lots of new NPC's, a different type of scenery, and a rather intricate puzzle.
Let me know what you think of the idea.

I like it very much, Nowena. It looks different from other quest homes. I can help woth the last stages but I think it's a looong way yet But if you need any female (as for now it doesn't seem so) I can help you

Thank you, Lalwende. Yes, I will need a female - Kajiit, I think - as a rather important part of the quest when I get to that point. She pretends to be a skooma addict, but is actually gathering information.

Skooma addict? Khajiit? Madame, you just made a deal!

Re: (WIP) The Search for Saiburra: a treasure hunt
OK. I'm getting very close to setting up the player house that starts off my mod, but I could use some help.
Does anyone know of a good spot to place it? It should be a little isolated, but not so much that our previous homeowner would have to travel too far for supplies and company. He is very fond of nights in the pub with good company, but a little conservative about how his belongings are kept - a bit nervous about thieves. So, I see him as needing a place outside of any town, but not too far away from at least one, and slightly off the beaten track so he doesn't have to worry about too many strangers dropping by while he is off sharing a pint.
I was thinking about the area down below Gwedon Farm (where the girls were "entertaining" their men guests), but perhaps that area's got too many land based "pirates"? Hehe. Maybe closer to Bravil? He feels more at home with the underprivileged than with nobility.
Any ideas of an area not too heavily modded already?

Re: (WIP) The Search for Saiburra: a treasure hunt
Just outside Chorrol, in the neighbourhood the hunters cabin of the Elf, there is plenty of free space there. What's his name again, the athletics trainer..... Honditar? Or do you want it in total isolation from anything else?

Re: (WIP) The Search for Saiburra: a treasure hunt
Oo. I hadn't thought of Chorrol. That would be an interesting spot. Lots of adventurers like him already in the area, so he'd have friends to talk to in the pub. Only problem is I've got the UL package loaded for the Chorrol area. I'd have to put it far enough out to be free of that modding since I don't want to require it and I don't want to lose it in my game either, if I can help it.
Thanks for the idea.

Now, where did I put that WIP thread . . . Ah. Here it is! Time to brush it off maybe and say that I think I will get back into this.
